About the café
The Beckman Café was original to the institute when it opened in the late 1980s. It went through a total renovation and reopened in 2025, bearing the name of Beckman Founding Director Ted Brown. The café's private dining room also opened in 2025.
Brown named the café through a generous gift, which ensured the space would continue to be a hub where Beckman researchers and staff members could share ideas over a meal or a cup of coffee.
