Pop New Faculty Member at Beckman

Eric Pop has joined the Beckman Institute as a member of the Computational Electronics group. Pop is a faculty member in the Illinois Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Pop earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in 2005 and a Master's in Engineering from MIT in 1999.

Pop's research is in the area of solid-state electronics, with a focus on power and thermal issues in nanoscale integrated circuits, carbon nanotubes and graphene for electronic and thermal applications, and alternative solid-state memory devices.

Pop won the DARPA Young Faculty Award in 2008 and the Arnold O. Beckman Research Award in 2007.
