Beckman’s Visualization Lab is open for office hours Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 1-3 p.m. in 2203 Beckman, which is located just across the atrium bridge from the elevator.

Manager Juniper Cournoyer will be on hand to help users with the Vis Lab’s equipment and other resources for research. The Vis Lab offers data visualization software, high-performance computing, 3D art services, virtual reality content creation and high-speed photography. Have questions? Join us in 1005 Beckman October 20, 2026 for our second Fall Tech Talk with Wawrzyniec L Dobrucki, Neil and Carol Ruzic Faculty Scholar, Associate Professor of Bioengineering and Medicine and Goodluck Okoro, Graduate Student, Bioengineering.  

Dr. Dobrucki will cover the new scanner’s performance characteristics, including sensitivity, resolution, multimodal registration, and dynamic acquisition.  He will also highlight what the new system makes possible compared with the previous platform and include two or three selected application examples.  Goodluck Okoro will cover computational methods for extracting quantitative structural and functional measurements from molecular imaging data.

Lunch will be provided.

K9 Rosie will be at the Beckman Atrium on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at 10:30am.  

All are welcome to stop in and say hello!

K9 Rosie is an I-PAWS Therapy K9, specializing in providing comfort, reducing stress and responding to mental health emergencies or campus events.  Rosie was rescued from the Brevard County Animal Shelter and trained via Paws & Stripes College and basic inmate obedience programs before joining UIPD.  K9 Rosie and her colleagues can be found on various social media platforms, including Instagram and Facebook. Join us at the Beckman Institute for a Lunch and Learn focused on recruiting underrepresented populations in research. There will be a few short talks followed by a discussion section.
