William Brewer received his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa in 1967. He is a professor in the University of Illinois Department of Psychology, a research professor in the Institute of Communications Research, and a part-time faculty member in the Beckman Institute Cognitive Science Group. His fields of professional interest are cognitive psychology, cognitive science, knowledge representation, acquisition of knowledge, human memory, text and discourse, and the psychology of science.
