Nancy Sottos received her Ph.D. (Mechanical Engineering) in 1991 from the University of Delaware. She is a professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and a part-time faculty member in the Beckman Institute Autonomous Materials Systems group. Her research interests focus on the mechanics of complex, heterogeneous materials including autonomic materials systems, advanced composites, and thin film devices.
