Charles "Lee" Cox received his Ph.D. from the University of California at Riverside in 1993. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University and a research assistant professor at State University of New York, Stony Brook. He is presently an assistant professor in the Department of Molecular and Integrative Physiology and the Department of Pharmacology in the College of Medicine, and a full-time faculty member in the Beckman Institute Neuro Tech group. His research interests include sensory processing, synaptic physiology and plasticity, and general properties regulating neuronal excitability. His present research focuses on the functional organization and neuromodulation of thalamocortical circuits as well as cellular mechanisms underlying epilepsy.
